Terrestrial Design presents the Biome™ typeface family, designed by Carl Crossgrove. Biome can be described as a retro-futuristic, soft superelliptical display sans-serif design in seven weights, with corresponding oblique italics. A biome is a natural ecosystem defined largely by dominant vegetation and climate types. Biome won a Certificate of Typographic Excellence in the Type Directors Club 2009 type design competition under its previous, working name of Nebulon. Biome is the distillation of figure-ground explorations and an interplay between the organic and the futuristic. Diverse visual elements influenced the design, from eyeglass frames and automobile styling, to Danish furniture and science-fiction films. You can purchase this font here.
